History of the company HBV GmbH

1979 On 1 April 1979 the rolling master Ernst Bierotte founded the company Schmalband-Verzinkerei Bierotte KG on the premises of the Wilhelm Olmesdahl company, spring factory and cold rolling mill on the Unternahmerstraße. On an old galvanizing line for leaf screen belts, which Mr. Ernst Bierotte restored to working order, packaging belts for Hoesch and leaf screen belts for Hugo Schmitz GmbH & Co. were initially galvanized. Due to the good demand for contract galvanized narrow strips, a year later a second galvanizing line for bright galvanizing was put into operation.
1981 Relocation of the still young company from Unternahmer Str. to the premises still in use today at Oeger Str. 53 in Hagen.
1986 Due to the increasing demand for cold-rolled strip steels in widths from 40 mm to 200 mm, a third galvanizing line was put into operation. The plant was designed to refine steel strips up to a width of 200 mm. In addition, flat-rolled wires with a cross-section of up to 60 mm² could be galvanized on this accusation and wound onto packs weighting up to 600 kg.
1991 Commissioning of a modern semi-automatic wastewater treatment plant. The plant is designed so that the treated wastewater can be returned to the production process.
1997 Mr. Volker Bierotte, the eldest son of Mr. Ernst Bierotte, took over the complementary shares of Bierotte KG and became managing director.
2000 In this year, the largest investment in the company's history to date was realized. A fourth galvanizing line, on which strips up to a width of 400 mm can be refined, was put into operation. This plant was designed in such a way that, in addition to the usual passivation, phosphating or sealing with clear varnish was also possible in the after-treatment.
2006 Bierotte KG was sold to Dipl.-Ing Klaus Niggemeier and Johannes Glania and continued under the new company name HBV Hohenlimburger Bandstahlveredelung GmbH.
2012 In March 2012 the first stamping line will be put into operation. Hardened flat wires for the construction industry will be punched. Due to the good demand, two further, larger punching lines were built in the course of time. In addition to the electroplating operation, a further business segment was opened up in this way, which is to be further expanded in the future.
2017 Mr. Glania leaves the company in April 2017. The shares are taken over by Dipl.-Ing. Klaus Niggemeier, who has been the sole shareholder and managing director since then.
2018 In October 2018, the company was certified by TÜV Rheinland according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 for the electroplating and stamping sectors.
